BISP 8171 Check 2026: SMS, Web Portal & Rs 14,500 Payment

Updated 11 October 2026. The Benazir Kafaalat quarterly payment is now Rs 14,500 per eligible family, up from Rs 13,500, and about 10.2 million families are enrolled. You can check your status by SMS to 8171, on the 8171 web portal, or at your BISP Tehsil Office. This guide explains each method, who qualifies and what to do if something goes wrong.

Method 1: Check by SMS

Open your messages app.
Type your 13-digit CNIC number without dashes or spaces.
Send it to 8171.
Read the reply. It tells you whether your household is eligible or whether further steps are needed.

Use the SIM and phone you normally use, and send the SMS only to 8171. Do not reply to messages from any other number asking for details.

Method 2: Check on the 8171 Web Portal

Open 8171.bisp.gov.pk.
Enter your CNIC number.
Type the captcha code shown in the image.
Submit to see your household’s eligibility information.

The portal page offers an eligibility lookup by CNIC. It does not list payment instructions, so for payment details use the SMS service, your bank or the Tehsil Office.

Method 3: Visit the BISP Tehsil Office

If SMS or the portal does not help, visit your nearest BISP Tehsil Office with your original CNIC. Registration and checking are free. Staff can tell you whether a re-survey, biometric verification or enrolment is needed.

Who Is Eligible?

Households are assessed through the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER), which assigns a poverty (PMT) score. Lower scores mean greater need. Reports put the cut-off at 32 or below, and up to 37 for households with a disabled member. Payments mainly go to the female head of the household with a valid CNIC. Recent Changes You Should Know

Rs 14,500 per quarter from the first of Ramazan 2026 (previously Rs 13,500).
Education and Nashonuma stipends each rose by Rs 500.
A digital wallet system with free SIM cards is being rolled out, so beneficiaries can withdraw from any bank under the interoperability programme.
BISP says beneficiaries must receive the full amount and that unauthorised deductions will face strict action.

About the Rs 18,000 and Rs 19,500 reports: some websites say the quarterly payment will rise to Rs 18,000 or Rs 19,500 from January 2027. These reports name no official, cite no notification, and disagree with each other on the starting amount, so we treat them as unconfirmed. If Your Payment Is Delayed or Short

Check that you are using the CNIC of the registered woman.
Make sure biometric verification is complete and your SIM or wallet is activated. Reports say only about 30% of issued SIMs had been activated in Sindh.
Report unofficial deductions. Beneficiaries in Sindh told Dawn that agents deduct Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000 per payment. Call 0800-26477 or visit the Tehsil Office.
