Sindh is giving free electric scooters (“pink scooters”) to women who complete driving training and pass a licence test. Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon said on 27 September 2026, at a distribution ceremony in Mirpurkhas, that the government will keep distributing them without discrimination and that Sindh is the only province providing free e-scooters to women.

How It Works
Women first receive driving training, then take a licence test. Women who pass receive an EV scooter. In April 2026 the government said training programmes had started in Sukkur and Hyderabad and women had begun receiving licences. By late September 2026, distribution had reached Mirpurkhas, and a Dawn headline mentions another batch of 300 women receiving pink e-scooties.
Who Can Apply?
- Women residents of Sindh.
- Women who complete the training and hold or obtain a driving licence.
- Men may not ride pink scooters: Memon said men seen riding them will face action.
The reports did not publish an application form, age limits, income conditions or the vehicle model. The scheme was announced as free, but one early report described it as “subsidised”, so confirm the final terms with your district administration.
How to Join
- Ask your district administration or the Sindh government’s women development department where licence training is being held in your city.
- Complete the training and the licence test.
- Wait for the distribution list. Distribution so far has been held in batches at ceremonies in different cities.
We have not found an official online application portal for this scheme, so beware of websites that claim to offer one.
Beware of Fake Agents and Scam Sites
Government welfare schemes attract scammers. No genuine programme asks you to pay a “registration fee” to an agent, share your card PIN, or send your CNIC and OTP codes to a WhatsApp number. Enter your CNIC only on websites ending in .gov.pk or use the official SMS and helpline numbers mentioned in this guide.
