How the Collective Marriages Work

Ceremonies are held district by district. For example, the February 2026 phase included Lahore (170), Muzaffargarh (200), Layyah (370), Mianwali (250), Khushab and Sargodha (200 each), Faisalabad (150) and Toba Tek Singh (70). Registration for the programme also opens locally in districts such as Lodhran when a new round is announced. The Social Welfare Department pays all wedding expenses and each bride receives the Salami Card.

Tips

  • Prepare the affidavit and CNICs of the bride and applicant in advance.
  • Register early, since balloting is used when applications exceed the number of places.
  • Keep your phone number active for confirmation messages.
  • Never pay anyone to “arrange” a place in a ceremony.

Beware of Fake Agents and Scam Sites

Government welfare schemes attract scammers. No genuine programme asks you to pay a “registration fee” to an agent, share your card PIN, or send your CNIC and OTP codes to a WhatsApp number. Enter your CNIC only on websites ending in .gov.pk or use the official SMS and helpline numbers mentioned in this guide.
